*Our proprietary blends of essential oils are one of a kind with the highest dilution rate (More essential oils. Less carrier oil) on the market. Of course not including neat (undiluted) essential oil. But we always recommend using essential oils with a carrier oil for the following reasons: Undiluted essential oils may cause irritation and sensitization, It helps the customer save on the cost associated with E.O. therapy,(Why throw money down the drain and not get extra benefits from it?) and diluted essential oils may exert a stronger therapeutic effect then neat (undiluted) essential oils.
So, we said that diluted essential oils may exert a stronger effect then undiluted essential oil??? We know, it sounds crazy. But here is why... Essential oils- Their volatile chemical nature means that they evaporate extremely quick so a large percentage of the essential oil molecules dissipate into the air never being absorbed through the skin. (Never receiving the health benefits. Just like throwing money away) Carrier oils are not volatile, so they do not evaporate like essential oils do. Also when applying a given dose onto your skin, Essential oils with a carrier oil reaches a larger surface area and result in greater absorption. Just think about it, how difficult it would be to spread a single drop of essential oil on more then a few inches of skin before it soaked into the small area of skin or evaporated into the air.... So, using one of Holistic Cupboard's proprietary blends will result in a greater percentage of essential oil absorption.
